AI Visibility — What Does ChatGPT Say About Your Business?
Something is already being said. A competitor gets named, a directory gets named, or nobody does. Most businesses have never checked which.

What we look at
We ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask, across several phrasings, and record what comes back. Then we work out why.
- Who gets named — you, a competitor, a directory, or nobody. Across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, because they do not agree with each other.
- What they say about you — including anything wrong. Models confidently state outdated or incorrect facts about businesses, and that is worth knowing before a buyer reads it.
- Which sources they lean on — the directories, reviews and industry sites feeding the answer. That tells you where you need to exist.
- Why the competitor wins — usually presence on trusted sources, a liftable claim, or clearer entity signals. Rarely a better website.
You probably do not need an AI visibility tool yet
Profound, Scrunch, Evertune and others monitor AI mentions continuously, and they do it well. If you are a brand tracking hundreds of prompts across markets, they earn their subscription.
If you are an Australian business with one market and one category, a structured manual check each month tells you the same thing. The money is better spent fixing what the check finds than watching it more often.
We do not resell any of them and we take no commission. If you reach the point where a tool makes sense, we will say so — and you can buy it directly.
AI visibility — frequently asked questions
What is AI visibility?
AI visibility is whether your business gets named when someone asks an AI assistant about your category. It is the AI equivalent of appearing in the search results — except there is one answer rather than ten links, so the difference between being named and not being named is total.
How do I check my AI visibility?
Ask the assistants directly. Open ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google, type the question a buyer would type, and record what comes back. Do it for several phrasings, because models answer differently depending on how the question is asked. The result is your baseline. Most businesses have never run this, and the first look is usually uncomfortable.
Is there an AI visibility tool?
Several exist — Profound, Scrunch, Evertune and others — and they monitor mentions across assistants at scale. They are useful if you are tracking a brand continuously and have budget for another subscription. For most Australian small businesses the honest answer is that a structured manual check each month tells you the same thing, and the money is better spent on fixing what the check finds. We will say so rather than resell you a tool.
Why does an AI assistant name my competitor and not me?
Usually one of three reasons. They are present on the third-party sources the model trusts and you are not. Their site makes a specific, liftable claim and yours makes marketing statements. Or the model does not clearly understand what your business is, because your details are inconsistent across the web. All three are fixable, and none of them are about writing more blog posts.
How is this different from AI SEO?
AI visibility is the measurement. AI SEO is the work. You check visibility to find out where you stand and what is causing it, then do the work to change it. They are usually bought together, and we will tell you if the check shows nothing worth acting on.
Does AI visibility matter if my customers still use Google?
Google is still the larger channel in Australia, and it will be for a while. But the same buyer increasingly asks an assistant first to narrow the shortlist, then searches the names it gave them. That means AI visibility shapes the shortlist you are competing on before Google is opened at all. Watching your branded search volume is the practical way to see whether that is happening to you.
Once you know where you stand, the work to change it is AI SEO.
